TP-Link Archer C4000 Router Performance
With a gigabit network connection the TP-Link Archer C4000 has the capacity to deliver up to 940 Mbps. This is the highest it can go, but it is safe to say that the CPU of the Archer C4000 handles gigabit network connections without any problem.WiFi performance testing aims to understand the speeds that can be expected when using ordinary devices, as it is understandable that most people will only use routers with laptops or mobile phones that only support AC1200.. We will perform two range test, short-range test in a 3-meter view line outside, and long-range test more than 7 meters apart, outdoor and in a reinforced concrete wall.
The testing floats the Archer C4000 a couple of boats of itself. The WiFi coverage is excellent and the speeds are very fast. I’d go as far to say it’s quicker than the 4×4 Quad Stream Archer C3150. This suggests that the new WiFi chipsets perform better than the old routers. Our WiFi speed is amazing, very rarely do we get disconnected even from a distance.
TP-Link Archer C4000 Router Hardware
We have reviewed TP-Link routers in the past, and the firmware on the Archer C4000 seems to coincide with that of other TP-Link routers. The only thing is the embedded functions of the router. I’d say the Archer C4000 has plenty of features, like other expensive TP-Link wireless routers, for you to play with. This router is feature-rich. Actually, there’s one thing we do like about Homecare antivirus. I also really like the Homecare parental controls, which not only provides scheduled controls but also blocks content by category. The firmware also contains lots of nice network stuff that might be useful. It does support the OpenVPN and PPTP VPN server types, but we’d prefer a VPN client. It also has TP-Link cloud functionality for remote monitoring purposes.
TP-Link also offers an app for remote monitoring and managing of wireless routers. The TP-Link Tether app is compatible for Android and iOS which includes iPhone/ iPad. The user-end app is fairly straightforward to use, and we think the most useful feature is to be able to see who is connected to the network. There are a few lightweight setup options in the app as well.
