TP-Link Archer AX3200 Router Performance

Archer AX3200 Performance

TP-Link Archer AX3200 router performance was tested in 2.4GHz, 5GHz throughput, as well as in file transfer performance.

Archer AX3200 2.4GHz WIFI Throughput Testing

On the 2.4GHz close-proximity test, for instance, the Archer AX3200 delivered 125Mbps, better than the Linksys Hydra Pro 6 AX5400 (121Mbps), but slower than the ASUS ROG Strix GS-AX5400 (128Mbps) and Synology (134Mbps). In our 30-foot test at obstructions, the Archer AX3200 tied the Asus at 44 Mbps, which was quite a bit faster than the Linksys at 42 Mpbs but was a far cry from the WRX560’s 62 Mbps. On the 5 GHz close-range test, the TP-Link Archer AX3200 router tied with the Hydra Pro 6 at 830 Mbps. The ROG Strix router managed a slightly faster 846 Mbps, and Synology once more pulled ahead with 931 Mbps. From 30 feet, the Archer AX3200 (399 Mbps) tied the Linksys (400 Mbps) but trailed the Asus GS-AX5400 (424 Mbps) and well behind the WRX560(576 Mbps).

Archer AX3200 5GHz WIFI Throughput Testing

During our file transfer performance test, we created a 1.5GB folder of mixed media files and documents. The Archer AX3200’s write speed of 51MBps beat the Synology (47 MBps) but couldn’t keep up with the Linksys and the Asus (55 MBps and 69 MBps, respectively), putting it in the middle of the road. On read tests, the Archer AX3200 mustered 54 MBps, again outpacing the Synology WRX560 (48 MBps), but being bested by the Hydra Pro 6 (57 MBps) and ROG Strix (85 MBps).
